Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for "zero defects" and "zero effect" manufacturing resonates strongly with the ZED certification initiative, emphasizing quality enhancement and environmental stewardship. ZED, short for Zero Effect Zero Defect, is a pioneering government scheme aimed at promoting high-quality manufacturing with minimal environmental impact. It establishes rigorous standards for industries, particularly MSMEs, ensuring operations with minimal waste generation and maximum efficiency.
Several units in Noida have achieved the prestigious ZED Gold certification under the Noida Apparel Export Cluster (NAEC), marking a significant stride towards sustainable manufacturing practices.
M/s. Meenu Creation LLP has emerged as a frontrunner with its two units attaining the coveted ZED Gold certificate, showcasing dedication to advanced manufacturing practices that prioritize quality and environmental responsibility. Similarly, M/s. Fancy Fashions has elevated Noida's manufacturing profile as the region’s first factory under NAEC to achieve ZED Gold certification, setting a benchmark for operational excellence. ZED offers substantial benefits to MSMEs, including free certification for women-owned enterprises and subsidies for testing, certification, and international cooperation. Additional incentives like subsidies on certification costs and credit guarantee schemes further encourage participation.
Tangible Benefits for MSMEs:
- Free ZED Certification for Women-Owned MSMEs: 100% subsidy provided.
- Financial Assistance for Testing/System/Product Certification: Support available.
- International Cooperation (IC) Scheme:
- Stall Charges: Maximum subsidy of Rs. 4.00 lakh or actual rent paid, whichever is lower.
- Economy Class Airfare: Maximum subsidy of Rs. 2.25 lakh or actual fare paid, whichever is lower.
- Freight Charges: Assistance provided under the IC Scheme.
- Subsidy on Cost of ZED Certification:
- 80%, 60% and 50% subsidy for micro, Small and medium enterprises, respectively.
- Joining Reward: Rs. 10,000/- offered to each MSME upon taking the ZED Pledge, valid for one year.
- Additional Subsidies:
- 10% for Women/SC/ST Entrepreneurs OR MSMEs in NER/Himalayan/LWE/Island territories/Aspirational districts.
- 5% on ZED Certification Cost for MSMEs in SFURTI or MSE-CDP programs.
- Credit Guarantee Scheme for ZED Certified MSEs:
- Increased Guarantee Coverage: Up to 85%.
- Concession in Guarantee Fee: 10% additional relaxation.
